Tashi Gyalzen along with UNDP Youth Advocate and mountaineer Ikramul Hasan Shakil was honored with garlands and flowers upon his arrival. Tashi Gyalzen from Phortse, Solukhumbu reached the summit point of Mt Everest for the fourth time in just 14 days and 10 hours on May 23. He climbed the world's highest peak on May 9, 14 and 19 as well. The climbers were also felicitated in an event organized by 8K Expeditions and Phortse Community in Kapan. The event recognized their extraordinary achievements, marking a proud moment for Nepal's mountaineering community. Facilitating the climbers, Sonam Gyalzen Sherpa, Member of the National Assembly, applauded Tashi Gyalzen for his exceptional achievement. Senior advisor to Nepal Mountaineering Association Ang Tshering Sherpa, Ward chair Laxman Adhikari of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, Tshering Tashi Sherpa, Chairman at The Little Sherpa Foundation, and Pemba Sherpa, Chairman at 8K Expeditions, among others congratulated Tashi Gyalzen and Shakil for their success. The 29-year-old Tashi Gyalzen recounted a challenging feat that he achieved on Mt Everest this season. "My two year's old dream came true this season after gaining full support from the 8K team, Phortse climbing community, sponsors and family as well as friends," he said. "The event recognized Tashi Gyalzen's extraordinary achievements, marking a proud moment for Nepal's mountaineering community," Lakpa Sherpa, Expedition Leader and Managing Director at 8K Expeditions, who made his mission possible from the Everest Base Camp, commented. UNDP Youth Advocate and mountaineer Ikramul Hasan Shakil was also felicitated in the event as he successfully scaled Everest, after walking around 1,400 kilometres from the shores of the Bay of Bengal in Cox's Bazar of Bangladesh in just 84 days, completing his 'Sea to Summit' expedition. Makalu E Traders supported Shakil by providing all necessary climbing gears to make his bid a success, Lhakpa Sherpa from Makalu E Traders informed.
