Deputy Mayor Srijana Burlakoti Aryalserved as Chief Guest, praising UHGHF's contribution to education and infrastructure. She highlighted PNSS's recent achievement-first place in the Community School category across Kathmandu District-attributed to UHGHF's support in infrastructure, school supplies, and educational tools since 2019.
Special guests included Korean Ambassador Park Tae-young, UHGHF Chairman Lee Jae-hoo, Executive Director Captain Um Hong Gil, and three co-founders of Humanscape Korea, the project's donor. 36 Korean delegates, mostly UHGHF board members, were present. The event was chaired by Mr. Shambhu Prasad Phuyal, Chairperson of the School Management Committee.
Choi Hyunsub, Co-founder of Humanscape Korea, emphasized that the Sports Complex is not just a place for games, but a space where students learn valuable life lessons-most importantly, how to stand up again after falling down.
In his remarks, Ambassador Park underscored the significance of education towards the development of Korea, expressing his hope that the gymnasium would serve as a foundation for students to become future leaders of Nepal.
Student representative Niranjan Jamkatel thanked UHGHF and Humanscape for their continued support. He emphasized that it is now students' responsibility to turn PNSS into a model school for Nepal.
Chairman Lee thanked all stakeholders and stressed the importance of lasting people-to-people ties. Captain Um encouraged students to pursue their dreams through hard work and dedication.
Construction of the complex began in November 2022. The facility measures 40.4m x 25.4m x 10m, seats up to 800 people, and includes courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. It will support both sports and community activities.
The Foundation also distributed sports equipment, football uniforms, and Everest school bags to all 1,350 students, further supporting their physical education and academic needs.
UHGHF, a non-profit INGO established in 2008 in Korea, has supported 19 Human Schools across Nepal since 2009. The Foundation's next project is set to begin in Surkhet, Karnali Province.
