Updated: 19 dead, over 300 injured in Gen Z protests nationwide

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 8 A total of 19 people have been confirmed dead nationwide during today's Gen-Z protests, while 347 others have sustained injuries, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. At Bir Hospital, six people remain under treatment, while the National Trauma Center is treating 59 patients, eight of whom succumbed to their injuries. At Everest Hospital in Baneshwor, 102 people are being treated, with three fatalities reported, while eight others have been referred to different hospitals. Similarly, four patients are undergoing treatment at the Patan Institute of Health Sciences, and 37 at Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital, where two people died during treatment. Hospital authorities stated that six of the injured there will require surgery. In addition, three patients are being treated at Norvic Hospital. At Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, 18 patients are under treatment and one fatality has been recorded. Beyond the Kathmandu Valley, one patient is receiving care at Gandaki Medical College, two at Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences, four at Birat Medical College in Biratnagar, and seven at Damak Hospital in Jhapa. Meanwhile, two deaths have been reported at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.
