Uttarakhand’s 16-Year-Old Sachin Kumar, Youngest Indian to Conquer Mount Everest, Meets CM Pushkar Singh Dhami
Sachin Kumar, a 16-year-old from Uttarkashi who summited Mount Everest in May 2025 as part of the All India NCC expedition, met Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who praised his courage and achievement.
In an inspiring moment for Uttarakhand, 16-year-old Sachin Kumar, who scaled Mount Everest earlier this year, met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister lauded Sachin for his extraordinary courage, discipline, and determination, stating that conquering the world’s highest peak at such a young age is a remarkable achievement.
“Sachin Kumar has made his family, Uttarakhand, and the entire country proud,” Dhami said while felicitating him at the CM residence.
Sachin, a resident of Uttarkashi, was part of the All India NCC Mount Everest Expedition Team, which reached the summit on May 18, 2025. The expedition was organized to promote adventure spirit and national pride among Indian youth.
Expressing his gratitude, Sachin said he was honored by the recognition and vowed to continue representing India’s mountaineering spirit.
The state government has reiterated its commitment to support young climbers and adventurers, especially those from remote Himalayan districts.
