World Champions Karine Joly, Gregory Crozier skydive in Everest region

The Everest Skydive, an extreme adventure event organized since 2008, has commenced its 17th edition on November 15, 2024.

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 16 The Everest Skydive, an extreme adventure event organized since 2008, has commenced its 17th edition on November 15, 2024. This year's event saw world-renowned and champion jumpers from across the globe gather in Nepal to participate in this unique skydiving experience. Hollywood stars gather for honorary Oscars event celebrating Quincy Jones, Bond producers, more Korea's Chungdong Alpine Club explores Everest region French daredevils Karine Joly and Gregory Crozier carried the torch as champions for this year's edition. Both Joly and Crozier are World Champions, World Cup winners, and hold nine World Records. This marks Gregory Crozier's 50th country for skydiving, having made more than 10,000 jumps throughout his career. The immensely experienced team of Everest Skydive consists of free fly world champions Wendy Smith and Omar Alhegelan. The crew also includes Paul Henry, Alexandre de Baere who has the record for the highest landing i.e 6.45 West Col landing. Jean Phillipe, and Lauren Billet are other core members of this team who have been doing this event since 2008. They are all managing this year's event as well. This year's flights are done by Everest Skydive's exclusive partner, Fishtail Air, using their AS350 B3 helicopter flown by Capt. Sujal Shrestha. The event also saw a high turnout of clients from various countries vying for a place in the history books. Participants included Gustavo Alberto from Argentina, Mahmoud Sharaf and Mostafa Mohamed from Egypt, Theo Reixach and Heideh Dorostkari from France. On its inaugural day, the team managed 12 jumps with five loads in the helicopter. The support team consists of packers Dylan and Tyler from the US, while Everest Skydive manages the yearly event with support from Explore Himalaya Travel & Adventure and Hotel Aloft. Ground operations and communications are handled by Anuj Pandey from Everest Skydive. The extreme adventure will return for another edition in 2025, said Pandey.
