Yeti Airlines adds fourth Jetstream 41 to its fleet Kathmandu, August 29 : As part of strengthening its capacity, Yeti Airlines has added the fourth Jetstream 41 aircraft to its fleet, which landed at Tribhuvan International Airport today at 1800hrs. With this plane, the airlines says it will be able to provide more coverage and increase flight schedules to existing destinations. The Jetstream 41 is a pressurised and air-conditioned aircraft with large windows. It has powerful turboprops driving advanced five blade McCauley propellers, one of its kind in Nepal, which ensures less cabin noise as well as a smooth and stable flight, states a press release. It has a cabin height of over 1.78 metre and a seating capacity of 30 passengers at 30 inch pitch (leg room) and can fly at an altitude of more than 25,000 feet. The lavatory facility available is another feature of the Jetstream 41. It has an advanced easy to access avionics and electronic component which increases the reliability and reduces the pilot work load. The flight deck has EFIS glass displays and uses the latest generation technology. It presently is the fastest turboprop aircraft operating in Nepal. It is the only aircraft in Nepal which has EGPWS that works both horizontally and vertically making it more reliable and compatible to fly in mountainous Nepal. Equipped with TCAS-II (Traffic Collision Avoidance System - II), it also has the latest colour weather radar and bulletproof cockpit door. The airlines plans to operate its flights to Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Pokhara, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Everest flights with the Jetstream aircrafts.
