Terms & Conditions

Please read carefully before confirming your expedition

1. Expedition Agreement

By reserving your expedition with Everest Summit Adventures, you agree to comply with the terms and conditions set forth by the Nepal Ministry of Tourism and other relevant authorities. Expedition schedules and logistics are subject to environmental, weather, and regulatory conditions.

Our commitment is to deliver safe, professionally guided climbs with respect for mountain ecosystems, Sherpa traditions, and local communities.

2. Booking & Payments

A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance must be paid at least 90 days before expedition departure.

  • Payments can be made via bank transfer or major credit cards.
  • Expedition cost includes permits, Sherpa support, accommodation, and meals as outlined in your itinerary.
  • Failure to pay the balance on time may lead to automatic cancellation.

3. Health & Safety Requirements

Participation requires medical clearance for high-altitude climbing. Each climber must demonstrate adequate fitness, mental readiness, and prior experience above 6,000 meters.

  • Comprehensive travel insurance covering emergency evacuation.
  • Proof of recent medical checkup or health certification.
  • COVID-19 vaccination and relevant travel documents (as required).

4. Risk Acknowledgement & Liability

Mountaineering involves serious risks such as:

  • Altitude sickness or hypoxia
  • Avalanches, rockfalls, or ice collapses
  • Extreme weather or natural disasters
  • Equipment or transportation failure

By joining, you acknowledge these risks and agree to follow all expedition leader and Sherpa instructions. Everest Summit Adventures is not liable for injuries, delays, or losses arising from natural or unforeseen events.

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Refunds are determined based on notice period before expedition departure:

  • 120+ days prior: 50% refund of total cost
  • 60–119 days prior: 25% refund
  • Less than 60 days: No refund

If the expedition is canceled due to government restrictions or severe weather, participants may receive credit for future climbs within 12 months.

6. Environmental Responsibility

We adhere to “Leave No Trace” principles to preserve the Himalayas. Each climber must:

  • Carry out all non-biodegradable waste.
  • Use eco-friendly and biodegradable materials.
  • Avoid disturbing wildlife and vegetation.
  • Respect sacred sites and local customs.

7. Insurance Requirements

All participants must carry insurance that includes:

  • Emergency evacuation (minimum USD 100,000 coverage)
  • Medical treatment and hospitalization
  • Trip cancellation or interruption
  • Loss or theft of personal gear

8. Legal Jurisdiction

All disputes are governed by the laws of Nepal. Legal proceedings will be conducted in the courts of Kathmandu in accordance with Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) regulations.

9. Media & Intellectual Property Rights

Everest Summit Adventures reserves the right to use expedition photos and videos for promotional and educational purposes. Participants may request privacy exceptions in writing before departure.

10. Participant Conduct & Compliance

Climbers are expected to uphold safety, discipline, and respect for fellow team members and the environment. Any misconduct, disregard for safety rules, or disrespect toward Sherpa staff may result in removal from the expedition without refund.

By confirming your booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the above terms. Mountaineering involves personal risk, and you voluntarily accept the challenges associated with high-altitude expeditions.
